English Studies: Opening Doors to the World
At Tichonet Alterman, the English program is designed to equip students with strong language skills and a love for communication in a global world.
The curriculum focuses on developing all four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students expand their vocabulary and deepen their understanding of language structures, enabling them to express themselves accurately and confidently in a variety of contexts.
In reading lessons, students learn effective reading comprehension strategies such as identifying main ideas, understanding context, making inferences, and analyzing texts. Writing instruction emphasizes clear organization, correct grammar, and the ability to write for different purposes, from personal responses to formal assignments.
Listening and speaking skills are developed through interactive activities that encourage real communication. Students participate in discussions, presentations, and collaborative tasks, helping them build confidence and fluency.
Learning is enriched through the use of digital tools, songs, videos, literature, short stories, and games. In addition, students take part in mini-projects that involve research, creativity, and presentations, allowing them to apply their language skills in meaningful, real-world contexts.
Overall, the English program aims to foster independent learners who can use English effectively for academic, social, and future professional purposes.
"English is the most important tool you’ll ever need, no matter what career you choose."
